How Does THAT Work? Getting SPADED!

I had to put on my THINKING cap for a LONG time to figure THIS one out. I ALREADY explained how BOY cats get NEUTERED. Many of you wanted to know, WHAT happens to GIRL cats? Well, they get SPADED. I have HEARD it called being "SPAYED" but this is a spelling ERROR.

See, GIRL cats have a LADY GARDEN in their INSIDES. The GARDEN must be pretty BIG, which is why Daisy has a big BELLIE!

This is what the GARDEN looks like on the INSIDE. There are just REGULAR plants inside there until a BEE comes along to FERTILIZE the plants. One day, your mom and dad will EXPLAIN the BIRDS and the BEES to you. The FERTILIZER part is CONFUSING.

NEXT, the seedling turns into a KITTEN! They get BORNED after a lot of DAYS. But since there are ALREADY a lot of KITTEN plants getting BORNED, this is not always a GOOD thing. Maybe SOME cats use MIRACLE GROW!

MORE kitten plants are not NEEDED because not all kittens have HOMES. So, ONE DAY, the GIRL cat goes to a GARDEN CENTER. The GARDEN GNOME will use his SPADE to FIX the GARDEN. This is why it is called being SPADED. The spade REMOVES the GARDEN!!! But do not WORRY, because the girlcat will be ASLEEP when it happens.

Daisy is very SHOCKED to learn the REAL truth. But she got SPADED many YEARS ago. She probably FORGOT all about the GARDEN CENTER! It is a GOOD thing I can FIGURE out how stuff WORKS!

I Like Gin!

This week is Petfinder.com's Adopt-A-Less-Adoptable-Pet Week, a week dedicated to spotlighting those pets that are most often overlooked in shelters. It's all about getting people to take a second glance -- and give a second chance -- to those pets whose only crime is being a little older, the "wrong" color, or otherwise "less adoptable" -- but who have just as much love to give.

So BlogPaws Be the Change for Pets and I are taking up the cause for the next Be the Change Challenge! We're spreading the word about the many great adoptable pets who sit in shelters for weeks, months, and even years waiting for their forever home while the cute and cuddly kittens and puppies get snapped right up.

So who are these "less adoptable" pets? According to a survey of Petfinder member shelters and rescues the hardest to adopt out pets are senior or older pets, those with health problems (even minor ones), victims of breed prejudice (like Pit Bulls), shy pets, and those that need to be only pets. But that's not all! A lot of people overlook black and brindle dogs and cats as well. (Not convinced? Check Why Less Adoptable Pets Rule.)So next time you or a friend are looking to adopt, give these pets a second chance, a little more time and you never know, a less adoptable pet might just be the purrr-fect pet adoption for you!

Meet Gin! He lives at Cats Exclusive in Margate, FL. That's the same shelter Harley was adopted from! Gin is a handsome tabby and white kitty who has lived at the shelter since October 2007, and he deserves a Forever home. Gin is a little bit shy around new people, which may be why he hasn't yet found his Forever home. But Gin loves people and other cats, and would love to have a family of his own.

Below is a picture of Gin that my Mommeh took when she was a volunteer at Cats Exclusive. Isn't he handsome? He is about 3 years old now. Gin tends to flinch at the approach of hands, so I wonder what might have happened in his past.

Every cat should have a little red dress! I think this sporty pose shows off my dress real good. Did you notice my jaunty tail?

Since this dress is a little bit plain, I might need some extra props. What do you think of this fancy pink wand? Pink and red sometimes go together. But not always.

Prop, you might have let me down today.

This dress is stuck on with velcros at the shoulder. Since I got a skinny neck, it is a little bit too big. But I have a special trick...

My dress is altered with a binder clip! This makes me a little bit crabilated.

My Earliest Movie!

Ohai! This is a picture of me from when I was much younger. I been thinking about how I have some new friends who might not have seen some of my oldest movies...

So I decided to post my very first ever movie! I made this movie when I first started blogging, way back in December 2006! There is even a cameo from Pixie in this movie. I hope you like it.
