HOWDY, pardners! When I saw DAISY wearing this hat, I ASKED if I could wear it, too! And she said YES. Because I asked NICELY and did not PESTER her. Very much. COWBOYS are COOL! I am a COWCAT. That is ALMOST the same thing.

How Does THAT Work? Telephones!

The latest PUZZLE that I have FIGURED out is how the TELEPHONE works. I ADMIT that this one took me a LONG time to SOLVE. TELEPHONES are sort of CONFUSING, until you FIGURE out the INNARDS.

SEE? Inside the part that you TALK into, there is a RECORDING device. This is how the HANDLE of the TELEPHONE would look if you had X-RAY EYES! I made an ARROW in case you MISSED the RECORDER inside.

THEN, the TAPE goes along the TELEPHONE WIRES. This is just an ILLUSTRATION, because in REAL life, the TAPE moves faster than you can SEE! The speed of the TAPE is called the SPEED OF SOUND!

The CASSETTE TAPE gets to the RECEIVER on the OTHER phone. And then it PLAYS BACK!
Things are pretty SIMPLE when you figure them OUT!

Look What I Saw!

Lookit what I saw in my backyard! Can you see it, under the Gumbo-limbo tree? It's a wood stork!

Here is another picture. The wood stork is with his friend the white ibis. Do you see both of them? I think the birds like to hang out in the shade. On account of it is roasting hot here.

There he goes! He can fly real good for a wooden stork. Maybe just his bones are made of wood.

Harley wanted to see the birds, too. But he was too late. He is usually a day late and a dollar short for most things.

Fashion For A Cause!

I am not wearing a glamorous outfit today, but I am wearing something important! It is a tee-shirt with a message. It says "Be FIERCE in our fight to save the animals!" Do I look a little bit fierce? I hope so, because I want to do a small part in helping animals.

Here is a picture of my tee-shirt, in case you cannot read the letters while it is on my body. It has a PANTHER on the front!

Harley wants to help animals, too, so he is modeling the tee-shirt for you. He does not know how to look fierce, but he is posing real good.

Harley and I decided to use our allowances this week to help animals! We gave a little bit of money to help preserve habitats! You can help, too. You just go to the Animal Rescue Site, Gifts That Give More. We selected Contribute to Habitat Restoration. You can contribute as little as one green paper!
